System Requirements
System Requirements
Premier Exam Prep is a web-based platform. Our question banks, practice exams, study guides, and member dashboard run in your web browser, and live tutoring runs over video. You do not need to install any software. The list below covers what you need for the best experience.
Quick Requirements
Browser
Latest Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Recent Microsoft Edge and Safari are also supported.
Device
A laptop or desktop is strongly recommended, especially for full-length timed exams.
Internet
A stable broadband connection. We recommend 10+ Mbps for live video tutoring.
For Tutoring
A webcam and microphone, plus Zoom or Google Meet for your sessions.
Supported Browsers
For the best experience, use the most recent version of one of the following browsers, kept up to date:
- Google Chrome (recommended), latest version
- Mozilla Firefox (recommended), latest version or current ESR
- Microsoft Edge, recent version
- Safari, version 16 or higher
Older or unsupported browsers, including Internet Explorer, are not supported and may cause exams or the dashboard to behave incorrectly. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled (see Required Browser Settings below).
Operating Systems
Because the platform runs in the browser, it works on any modern operating system that can run a supported browser, including:
- Windows 10 or higher
- macOS 12 (Monterey) or higher
- ChromeOS (recent version)
- Linux with a current version of Chrome or Firefox
Recommended Hardware
- A modern multi-core processor produced within roughly the last six years
- At least 4 GB of RAM, with 8 GB recommended for the smoothest experience
- A minimum screen resolution of 1280 x 800; a larger display is better for passage-based questions
Internet Connection
A stable, reliable connection matters most during timed exams and live sessions. We recommend:
- At least 5 Mbps download for question banks, reading, and practice exams
- 10 Mbps or more for live video tutoring
- A wired connection or a strong Wi-Fi signal when taking a full-length exam, so a brief drop does not interrupt your test
You are responsible for any internet or mobile data charges. Public, shared, or restricted networks (such as school, workplace, or hotel networks) and some VPNs, proxies, or firewalls may block parts of the platform.
Question Banks and Practice Exams
Our practice exams and question banks are designed to mirror real exam-day conditions and are best taken on a laptop or desktop. Please note:
- Take full-length, timed exams on a computer rather than a phone or tablet.
- Each account is for one person, and only one active session is allowed per account at a time. Signing in from a second device or browser may end your other session.
- Allow pop-ups and redirects for our practice portals, such as the Casper and PREview practice sites on premierexamprep.com subdomains, so they can open correctly.
- Avoid the browser back button during a timed exam; use the on-screen navigation so your answers and timer stay in sync.
Live Tutoring Sessions
One-on-one tutoring and admissions-consulting sessions run over video. For these you will need:
- Zoom or Google Meet, whichever your tutor uses. A calendar invite with the link is sent when you book.
- A working webcam and microphone, and headphones if possible
- A quiet, well-lit space and a reliable connection
We recommend testing your camera, microphone, and connection a few minutes before your first session.
Required Browser Settings
- JavaScript: must be enabled. The platform will not function without it.
- Cookies: must be enabled. We use cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account session.
- Pop-ups: allow pop-ups and redirects for premierexamprep.com and its subdomains.
- Extensions: ad blockers, script blockers, privacy extensions, and some VPNs can interfere with logins, video, or exams. If you run into trouble, try disabling them or use a private or guest browser window.
Email and Login Links
We send booking confirmations, account notifications, and secure login links by email. To make sure these reach you, add hello@premierexamprep.com to your contacts or safe-sender list, and check your spam or promotions folder if a message does not arrive within a few minutes.
Mobile Phones and Tablets
You can use a phone or tablet for lighter tasks such as reading study guides, reviewing flashcards, or checking your dashboard. We do not recommend phones or tablets for full-length timed exams, and some features are limited or unavailable on smaller screens.
Accessibility
We want the platform to work for everyone and aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. If you use assistive technology or need an accommodation to access our materials, contact us at hello@premierexamprep.com and we will do our best to help.
