Fee Assistance Program

Affordable MCAT Prep for FAP Students

If you're receiving AAMC Fee Assistance Program benefits, you qualify for a 15% discount on all Premier MCAT Prep services. Cost shouldn't be the reason you can't get expert help.

What is the AAMC Fee Assistance Program?

The AAMC Fee Assistance Program (FAP) is designed to help students who demonstrate financial need afford the cost of applying to medical school. If you qualify, the AAMC provides:

  • Reduced MCAT registration fee (from $355 to $145 for 2026 test dates)
  • Free access to all AAMC MCAT prep products (practice exams, question packs, section banks)
  • Reduced AMCAS application fees for up to 20 medical schools
  • Fee waivers for participating secondary applications

Together, these AAMC benefits can be worth well over $2,000 in reduced application costs. Beyond what the AAMC offers, Premier MCAT Prep gives FAP students a 15% discount on all of our services so that tutoring support is accessible too. Proof of receiving FAP benefits from the AAMC is required.

How to apply for reduced-rate tutoring

Three steps to get started. The whole process usually takes less than a week.

1

Apply for AAMC FAP

If you haven't already, apply through the AAMC. Eligibility is based on family income relative to the federal poverty level. The AAMC reviews applications on a rolling basis.

2

Contact us

Reach out through our contact page and let us know you're receiving FAP benefits and are interested in the 15% discount. Tell us about your target score, timeline, and which sections you need the most help with.

3

Provide proof & get matched

You'll need to show proof of your AAMC FAP benefits — typically by showing your FAP confirmation email or dashboard status during a Zoom call. Once verified, we'll apply the 15% discount and match you with a tutor based on your section needs and schedule.

AAMC FAP eligibility requirements

The AAMC determines FAP eligibility based on financial need. To qualify, you generally must meet these criteria:

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident (or DACA recipient)
  • Family income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level
  • Not yet enrolled in or graduated from medical school

You'll need to submit income documentation and tax returns through the AAMC's application portal. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and benefits last for one testing year once approved.

Not sure if you qualify? Apply anyway. The AAMC reviews every application individually, and there's no penalty for applying. You can check current income thresholds and apply on the AAMC's website.
